Grad Fair - MCV Campus
March 12, 11 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., Jonah L. Larrick Student Center
(MCV Campus graduates only)

Grad Fair provides a one-stop opportunity to prepare for graduation: receive information about Commencement, complete pre-Commencement paperwork, network with VCU Career Services, review your post-grad options, learn about VCU Alumni and resolve any outstanding financial issues. In addition, you can purchase academic regalia, graduation announcements, class rings and diploma frames. Grad Images Photography will be there to take your first cap and gown portrait.

Grad Fair - Monroe Park Campus
March 13-14, 11 a.m. - 7 p.m., Barnes & Noble @ VCU Monroe Park Campus
(Monroe Park Campus graduates only)

Doctoral Recognition Reception
April 27, 3:30 - 5 p.m., James Branch Cabell Library, Lecture Hall, 3rd Floor, Room 303

The Grace E. Harris Leadership Institute and the Women’s Network at VCU will host the annual Doctoral Recognition Reception from 3:30 to 5 p.m. in the James Branch Cabell Library, Room 303. This event serves as a celebration and recognition of achievement for female doctoral graduates of summer 2017, fall 2017 and spring 2018. Lavender Graduation
April 27, 6 - 8 p.m., Academic Learning Commons, Room 1107

VCU will host Lavender Graduation from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Academic Learning Commons, Room 1107. Reception to follow in the lobby. This event is a celebration for graduating gender and sexual orientation minority students. Rainbow cords will be distributed to all graduates who will be walking in May. Members of the LGBTQIA and ally community are invited to attend, but you must register in advance at lavgrad.vcu.edu once the link goes live (usually late March). There is no fee and up to three guests can attend with each graduate. December 2017 and August 2018 graduates and their guests are also invited.

Rams in Recovery Graduation
April 27, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.

VCU will host Rams in Recovery Graduation from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. This event is a celebration for graduating students in recovery. Purple and gold cords and recovery graduation “chips” will be distributed to all graduates who will be walking in May. Members of the recovery and ally community are invited to attend. RSVP is required; email recovery@vcu.edu.

Veteran Graduation Recognition Ceremony
May 1, 4 -6 p.m., James Branch Cabell Library, Lecture Hall, 3rd Floor, Room 303

VCU and the Office of Military Student Services is proud to recognize and congratulate our graduating veteran students for their service to our country and their academic success at the Veteran Graduation Recognition Ceremony, May 1 from 4 – 6 p.m., in Cabell Library, Room 303. Veteran graduates will receive a certificate of achievement as well as their veteran honor cord which can be worn at the main ceremony. Refreshments will be served and Veterans are invited to bring a guest. Invited guests should RSVP to the VCU Military Student Services Office at militaryserv@vcu.edu or by calling (804) 828-6563. Students must RSVP by April 24.

Grad Bash
May 5, 5 - 8 p.m., University Student Commons, Commons Plaza

Celebrate your graduation at VCU’s first Grad Bash — an event in your honor sponsored by VCU Alumni. Grad Bash takes place 5-8 p.m. Saturday, May 5, at the University Student Commons, Commons Plaza. The event is open to all May 2018 and August 2018 graduates. It is free for graduating VCU students and $10 for guests or VCU students who are not graduating. Your ticket includes food and one drink coupon. Register online at http://vcualumni.org/Students/Grad-Bash. RSVP by April 14.

Donning of the Kente Ceremony
May 10, 2 p.m., Harris Hall Auditorium

The annual Donning of the Kente Ceremony for students graduating in spring 2018 (and December 2017) will be held on Thursday, May 10 at 2 p.m. in the Harris Hall Auditorium. The ceremony is sponsored by the Office of Multicultural Student Affairs and serves as a celebration of achievement for black undergraduate and graduate students and Ph.D. candidates. Latinx Achievement Ceremony
May 10, 6 p.m., Harris Hall Auditorium

The annual VCU Latinx Achievement Ceremony for students graduating in spring 2018 (and December 2017) will be held on Thursday, May 10 at 6 p.m. in the Harris Hall Auditorium. The ceremony is sponsored by the Office of Multicultural Student Affairs and celebrates the accomplishments of Latino/a undergraduate and graduate students. Family and friends are invited. VCU Commencement
May 12, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m., Richmond Coliseum

VCU’s universitywide Commencement ceremony brings graduates from all schools and colleges together to celebrate their academic achievements. The annual ceremony features the president of the university and a renowned keynote speaker. This event is open to the public. Tickets are not required and seating for guests is available on a first come, first served basis. Doors open at 9 a.m.
